3 Reasons Why Your Hot Waters Running Out So Fast on the Gold Coast
1. Water Heater is Too Small
There are only a handful of reasons why your shower is running out of hot water so quickly and up at number one - your water heater being too small is the most likely reason! Standard heaters come in a variety of sizes; most commonly 50, 125 or 250L options - see how much we charge for supply and install of these hot water systems here. The bigger the size the more demand for hot water obviously. The way the sizing works is pretty much how much hot water a system can product in one hour; so a 250L Hot Water System will be able to provide 250L of Hote Water an hour...So if your Hot Water is running out halfway through your shower and you haven't been in there for the length of the new Abba album, then it probably means it's time for an upsize!
2. Too Many Appliances in the House Demanding Hot Water at the Same Time
Have you ever had a shower at the same time as the washing machine is coping with the demands of the weekly washing load? This is an example of a time when the hot water supplies can deplete quickly mid shower. Luckily; this an ease solve - unless you must shower at a time when your washing machine has to be on, then it might be worth considering upgrading the size of your Hot Water System to cope with the peak hour deman of Hot Water! 3. Sediment Buildup
Hard water in homes leads to sediment build up - generally at the bottom of your hot water tank over time. In some cases the sediment build up is so severe that it refuces the amount of space in your hot water tank for hot water meaning it's well overdue for a flush! This can be done professionally by one of our Plumbers (see our set price for this here), or in most cases it might be worth inspecting regardless as the faults that can result from the sediment build up might mean it's worth a replacement in general as we recommend replacing them after 7-10 years anyway.
